The annual SICC May Day Charity on 1 May 2017 saw more than 700 golfers tee off from the Club’s golf courses, competing for the exciting Hole-In-One car and cash prizes. The full-day event ended off with a fund-raiser gala dinner graced by President Dr Tony Tan, who has been the Patron of the May Day Charity event for the 6th year running.
This year’s gala dinner was themed ‘Celebrating the Joy of Giving’. Musician Neil Chua and classical Indian dancer Priyadarshini Nagarajah wowed the audience with their cultural fusion performance. Internationally-known singer Erick Guansing charmed the audience with his smooth vocals. This was followed by an opera performance by Alice Lim and Marconi Mak. Vier.
The annual charity drive raised almost $1.4 million for 14 charitable organisations, providing the elderly, children and the disabled with medical and daily necessities, as well as financial assistance.
