Friday, 18 Aug 2017 – The Club Managers’ Association (Singapore) recently held its inaugural Golf Get-Together & Networking Night at the Champions Public Golf Course & Picotin Express at Bukit Timah.
A total of 45 golfers participated in the networking golf friendly that afternoon. Blessed with fine weather, the golfers were able to complete the casual 9-hole course before handing in their scorecards and settling down for some post-game refreshments at the scenic alfresco terrace of Picotin Express.

In the evening, the golfers were joined by other enthusiastic professionals from the club and hospitality industry for a networking dinner.

To complement the ice cold beers sponsored by Heineken, our attendees were treated to a yummy selection of meats which included lamb kofta, beef satay, roasted chicken, and savoury sides like onion rings and nachos.

As part of the networking event, we invited two of our sponsors to share some information about their products and services with our attendees.

Representative from our cash sponsor, OneClubNet (Mobicom), Ms Gabrielle Loh gave a short presentation on her company’s white label member engagement mobile application, while Ms Laila Sahputri, representative from Nongsa Resorts (Batam, Indonesia), one of our prize sponsors, shared a little about the resort’s new developments, exciting vacation options and upcoming events.

Following the messages from our sponsors, CMAS invited the Association’s President, Mr Mark James to give out the prizes to the winners of the golf friendly held earlier in the day.
As part of the fun, the usual novelty holes like “Longest Drive” and “Nearest-the-Pin” were included in the game. The winners for these novelty holes were:
Mr K. L. ‘Driving Hero’ Lau for his spectacular performance on Hole #6, winning the Longest Drive of the day:

Mr James ‘Eagle Eye’ Wee for his remarkable precision on Hole #7, sweeping the golf ball just inches away from the flag pole:

For their great effort on and off the greens, CMAS was pleased to present prizes to the 2nd Runner Up Team formed by Mr V Lingam, Mr Jason, Teo, Mr Jeffri Bin Wahid & Mr Lee Loong Tat; and the 1st Runner Up Team formed by Mr Ray Parry, Mr Martijn Boersma, Mr Moktar & Ms Wendy Tye.
Proving a force to be reckoned with, the winning team for the golf friendly was made up of this friendly bunch – Mr Daljeet Singh, Ms Adela Teo, Ms Jeannie and Ms Irina Freymond.

In the spirit of appreciation, CMAS also took the opportunity to present a special commemorative plaque to Immediate Past President, Mr Peter Goh, for his many years of commitment and service to the Association and committee.

As part of the Association’s fund raising efforts, attendees participated in our raffle draw which saw a very lucky Mr Martjin Boersma, Assistant General Manager of Hollandse Club take home a 4D3N-stay at Cocotinos Resort in Indonesia worth close to $1000.
