144 golfers teed off in the event, which has been running since the early 1980s. A total of $100,000 was raised in aid of residents on public assistance and Comcare support programmes.
Seletar Country Club donated the sum directly to the Nee Soon GRC Community Development and Welfare Fund, a practice that began with the 2015 Pioneer Generation Appreciation Dinner, held in commemoration of SG50.
At the tail end of the event, a token of appreciation was presented to Daimler SEA Pte Ltd for their unwavering support – Mercedes-Benz has been the hole-in-one and title sponsor since the event’s inception. SCC members were well-entertained by their own home-grown musical group, the Seletar Band.
